I am so content with how this lesson worked out. I feel like we improvised a lot, but did it in a very professional way. It was strange to me, that some members of my group were unhappy with how much improvisation we did. This is strange to me, for I feel that all of teaching should be more improvisation than structured lectures.
My strategy has been to learn the material enough that I can just talk about it with those in front of me, and I feel that it has been paying off.
Good work as a group, and interesting thoughts on the process! Planning and improvisation -- both are extremely important in our work. I like your confidence and engaging way of working with what you and the students are coming up with. It lets you be in the moment with the students, and bring humour and energy to the teaching! Watching your lesson, I think it was also important to think about what you wanted the learners to take away from the lesson in their future experiences of estimating percentages. Once in a while, your standards for a good-enough estimation seemed a bit unclear...but with a bit more discussion among the teaching team beforehand, this could be clarified.
